We welcome proposals from faculty, independent scholars and advanced graduate students whose research focuses on the ceramic arts.  Paper topics that address the theme, particularly submissions that take an interdisciplinary approach to material/visual culture, are welcome.  Please send an abstract of no more than 300 words for 20 minute papers with your name, title, institutional affiliation (if applicable) together with a short CV to the conference organizer, Dr. Kimberly S. Busby by Friday, September 16, 2011.
