TheArchaeologicalBox.com which officially went online on May 6th, 2009, is an international web referencing archeological service created for, and by, the archaeological community. Our goal is to promote archaeological resources and awareness on the regional, national and international levels. Our site is built around a structured community core which offers up-to-date news, event listings and other archaeological developments while facilitating interaction between members who share a common interest: archaeology!

How did we build TheArchaeologicalBox.com

Our web team works with Drupal - an open source content management platform. We work on PC computers – running on Microsoft XP and Vista – Macintosh for testing purposes. We built TheArchaeologicalBox.com using Drupal because it allows us to easily build a powerful, flexible and more importantly adaptable website – we like to change things around on a daily basis. Moreover, Drupal allows an individual or a community of users to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content.
